For me, writing began as a therapeutic measure. It was (and still is) the voice of the inner me, who at most times could not express her emotions verbally. With poems, short stories, scribbles and songs I gave vent to the emotions of that inner me.
The more I wrote, the easier it became for me to communicate my thoughts on paper rather than verbally. I never thought that my love of writing was a big deal until my daughter said, “How come when you write, you use such amazing words to say exactly what you want to say, but can’t do the same when you speak? You struggle with words when you speak, Mom!” That was the epiphany moment for me. I knew I had to explore this 'thing'.
This is more or less a career change for me as I used to own and run a catering service.
I live and write in Vienna, Austria and I'm currently on the MA Professional Writing, specialising in non-fiction.
