Metamorphosis

Spreading your wings and flying away takes a lot of energy. And all that energy can bring you down.

And stretch, and scrunch.

And stretch, and scrunch.

And stretch, and scrunch.

I am so fed up of being a caterpillar.

Mum says I’m going through a phase.

She says it’s just growing pains.

Whatever.

And stretch, and scrunch.

And stretch, and scrunch.

And all my friends have pissed off.

I don’t even know where they’ve gone.

They just upped and left one day.

And stretch, and scrunch.

And stretch, and scrunch.

“Think about the story of the ugly duckling,” says Mum.

Yadda, yadda, yadda.

What about the ugly duckling?

What’s the ugly duckling got to do with me?

And stretch, and scrunch.

When I grow up, I’m going to be an astronaut.
